Design begins away from the desk, in movement, transit and everyday use.
01 / Observe & Isolate Friction
Repeated actions reveal friction: an object that shifts, an opening that becomes difficult to reach because of posture, a layer that obstructs access, or a carrying position that interrupts movement.
A five-second inconvenience, repeated throughout the day.
02 / Establish the Base
The garment begins with a familiar archetype. Beneath the access system, its underlying form is shaped around wear, movement and layering. Silhouette, proportion, ease, mobility and layering establish the base against which functional interventions are evaluated.
Familiar form is the platform. Function is the intervention.
03 / Integrate Access
Each observed point of friction is translated into an access requirement: what must be reached, from which position, during which movement, and under which conditions.
04 / Test In Use
An access point is tested in motion and across changing body positions, rather than through static fit alone.
05 / Validate the Range
The garment is tested across its intended layering conditions to verify that access, proportion and movement remain intact as the surrounding layers change.
06 / Approve
Production begins only after the garment satisfies the criteria that initiated its development.
A handwritten signature marks final approval.
